Justin Robert Forti is an associate attorney at Atkinson, P.A., where he represents clients in all aspects of civil litigation matters involving personal injury, premises liability, and insurance defense.

Mr. Forti graduated cum laude from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. He continued his education at the University of Florida Levin College of Law and graduated magna cum laude among the top five percent of his class. During his tenure in law school, Mr. Forti served as a judicial intern at the Eighth Judicial Circuit of Florida, primarily working with Chief Judge Roundtree on probate matters. He later interned with the Internal Revenue Service Office of Chief Counsel in Jacksonville upon recommendation of his tax professors at the College of Law. He continued his legal education even further and earned an LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, then the Number 2 tax program in the country.

After law school, Mr. Forti consulted for high net worth clients on trust and estate issues, including active fiduciary administration, gift and estate tax planning, and drafting complex documents suited to individual client needs.

Mr. Forti then practiced dependency law in the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida, acting in a prosecutorial capacity on behalf of the State of Florida in cases of child abuse and neglect where the State intended to intervene to protect at-risk children from their guardians.

Mr. Forti is licensed by the Florida Bar to practice in all Florida state courts and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. He enjoys writing fiction, engaging with Miami’s cultural history, and spending time helping the community in any way that he can.
